Words make all the difference! Americans are used to hearing reports about our economic/monetary system expressed in terms of strength and weakness, but somehow, I think these words bring up nothing more than images of national identity. What emerges in the use of "expensive" to describe the state of the dollar is immediately a question: For whom? Considered in this way, it creates a consciousness of connection and could completely reframe how Americans think about their economic system….especially in a global context!
